A good read. If you like the writer, you will almost certainly really enjoy the book. At times, quite deep and reflective yet on the next page the other of the writer comes out in some form and makes you laugh.

Great read, especially if you are a fan. She shows a lot of her vulnerability as well as that iconic humour.

Miriam writes exactly as she speaks, and if you have enjoyed her acting work, you’ll be able to hear her voice as you read. I found Miriam’s journey from childhood to present day to be really engaging. I couldn’t put the book down, though at times I had to revisit previous pages - there’s just so many people in her life, so it’s easy to forget who did what to whom! I’m not easily shocked, but there were some revelations that might shock those of a prim and proper disposition. Though on reflection, I suppose they wouldn’t be buying this book, knowing of Miriam’s reputation. Let’s put it this way … if you’ve seen Miriam on chat shows or documentaries, and liked her, this book will give you more of her straight talking, swearing, and naughty revelations. If that’s not for you, buy the book for somebody else.

Looks a great read, thankfully we had a dry day because the package was left on display to all, in a large, damp bottomed flower pot, not impressed.

Love how Miriam is able to remember her childhood, and childhood friends and teachers names, she has an excellent memory. Interesting book but is a bit too long really, could have easily been a quarter smaller Overall a nice read, but would have liked to to be a bit more funnier as she always comes accross as a very funny women

Alors que Miriam est une personne cimique, son livre montre sa recherche d'attention juvénile tout au long de sa vie à travers un comportement souvent vulgaire.

Not much got done in my house as I read this wonderful book. I now just adore MM. I respected and liked her before, now I ADORE her. I love the way she speaks her mind, she speaks the truth and AT LAST someone else on Gods earth who hates places like Disneyland as horrors of fake and commerce. I loathe theme parks, safari parks and the like. I cannot like them, nor warm to them. My art of choice is theatre, I remember so many of MMs roles in plays and films, some of which I had all but forgotten, until my memory was nudged. Her little nuggets of information about people along the way in her fascinating life made me laugh out loud. Or nod, thinking “ I THOUGHT so.” Her wonderful female friends, loyal and true, her few male friends equally so, just from the joy of her company. Her suffering because of public school misogynistic male comics as a very young woman, made me want to cry. Those same public schoolboys still existed in some form or other through the 1980s & 1990s - I know, I worked with them. Dear Miriam, your book is a wonderful ripsnorter. It made me laugh, cry, think, read passages out loud, discuss Brexit again ( in NZ), contemplate my own decrepitude and old age (not far off ) and want to read Shakespeare and Dickens again. Not bad for one book. Brava, Miriam, brava. Xxxx

Great lady, says it like it is and doesn’t suffer fools. Absolutely amazing life story without trying to sell herself as something she isn’t. It’s a life lived ( so far and hopefully many more years) and to be proud of.
