I was hooked as soon as I read a few chapters. I couldn’t put it down, it’s funny, uplifting, spicy but without loosing a great storyline with some wonderful characters. The characters are witty ;) fun, so opposite but small town living with all their lives intertwined slowly but surly your routing for that love story, you know the one which seems an odd match but perfect. And this one is definitely a rollercoaster of a story with a mess going on that is sad, laugh out loud funny and some super spicy scenes that keep you hooked. I don’t like to put any spoilers in, as me myself hate them when looking at reviews, I’d rather have the enjoyment of reading the book to find out why the reviews say just how good it is. Let me tell you it’s definitely worth the read! I finished this book so quick, I couldn’t wait to read the next two in this series! I’d highly recommend this book. This was the first book I’d ever read by Lucy Score and I know she will become one of my favourites now that’s for sure!

So I tried to read this about a year ago and I just couldn’t get into it for some reason. I decided to go back and give it a second go as I’d seen so much love for it and I’m so glad I did! I really enjoyed it second time round, one of my favourites books I’ve read this month. I sometimes struggle with romance books being a bit too cheesy but this to me had the right amount of ‘falling in love’ and banter with some really great, likeable characters. I feel like I want to go move to Knockemout! I would say 4.5 stars.

Dear God, I love this book so much. I normally read a lot of dark romances, so this was definitely I very nice change for me. It was my first grumpy/sunshine trope and I’ll definitely be coming back for more. This book was so wholesome. I loved every single bit of it. I laughed so much and cried on numerous occasions. The chemistry between Naomi and Knox was there from the start. He comes across as grumpy and doesn’t care about the world yet the way he treats Naomi says differently. Right from the beginning he took care of her and made sure she was safe. Naomi is a goody two shoes and a people pleaser who is obsessed with making lists. She’s all of a sudden thrown into a parental role and although she feels like she’s failing she does a great job of making sure that Waylay has what she needs and is safe. Now, Waylay is an eleven years old little girl who’s just been abandoned by her mother, yet she doesn’t fail to be constantly funny. The side character just add to the story I loved everyone of them! The small town of knockemout is loving, welcoming and protective of their own. Also, the character development through this story was great. By the end both Naomi and Knox had grown. This is a really great book that I could not recommend enough. I can’t wait for more.

I think this may be another book that BookTok has massively overhyped. Don't get me wrong, the book was okay, it wasn't a chore to get through and at some points I did enjoy reading it however, I do wonder if I read the same book as the people who call this 'amazing' '5 stars' 'best book ever'? Let's start with the things I liked: - I liked the town. I liked this place as a setting, it gave me Stars Hollow vibes (iykyk). - I liked some of the characters. Waylay? Yeah she was pretty cool. Waylon? Also pretty cool. Controversially I also quite liked Stef (despite him being the biggest gay stereotype, I quite like a gay best friend character). - I liked the general story of Naomi and Waylay, how she all of a sudden has to care for this 11 year old and how she navigates that. Things I didn't like: - The characters' speech! It just didn't sound believable at all. The way Knox would say 'baby' at the end of every sentence when speaking to Naomi just felt SO forced to me. - Knox. I'm sorry, he's in his 40s? Why is he acting like a teenager when it comes to his feelings? He really does have the emotional maturity of a 13 year old. - The whole Tina/kidnapping drama felt like such an anticlimax. Overall I didn't hate this book. I've definitely read much worse. But for a 500 page book, I kind of expected a bit more to happen I think.

Took me a while to get into this book (genre change from my usual), but once I did I was hooked. I loved the characters & was invested in the story. It is written in so much detail you can literally picture every scene! A lot of detailed sex scenes...you've been warned! Brilliant book!

Could not put this book down. It grasped me at the very first page. So much loss and so much love in one book. Great FMC & MC, their chemistry, were on fire.

"Things we never got over" is a story of loss, love, and solidarity of a small American town. Naomi arrived in a small town in Virginia to help her troubled twin but instead found a true love and town of people who protect what their. I absolutely love this book. The writer keeps reading captivating and excited. I couldn't put the book down. Love the humor and the way the characters communicate. Absolutely recommend this book.

This book has made me realize that the BookTok algorithm might not align with my preferences. This book was a total page-turner and I adored every moment of it! (The series is available on Kindle Unlimited but I'm splurging on the physical copies of this series.) While some folks seem to have a bone to pick with this gem, I just couldn't get enough. Sure, The FMC may have her moments of annoyingness and drama - but hey, who doesn't in a romance novel? Naomi, the Good Twin extraordinaire, struggles with putting others' happiness before her own and it's her main flaw. That and her dependence on coffee! Although I didn't love Naomi as a character, understanding her need to be the "good child" and her heart of gold kept me rooting for her. Now, let's talk about our leading man, Knox - cue the heart eyes! I finally get the whole "book boyfriend" craze now. He's undeniably flawed, dealing with some serious Daddy issues, yet somehow still manages to steal hearts. I am smitten with that man, he's totally swoon-worthy. While many reviews criticize Knox, I found his character compelling. He wasn't the flawless small-town hero; he battled his own demons throughout the entire story. He also wasn't miraculously fixed the moment he met Naomi. His brother Nash briefly stole the spotlight as my book crush for a moment though and I'm excited to read his story in Things We Hide from the Light. And who could forget the adorable Waylay? "It's okay. You don't have to pretend. Aunt Naomi 'n me are used to people not wanting us." My heart shattered into a million pieces during that moment. While Waylay may have seemed a tad wise beyond her years at moments, she added a sprinkle of magic to the story. I was ready to jump into the pages and shield her alongside Naomi and Knox. This book was like a delicious mix of all the best romance tropes - mistaken identities, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, fake dating, good girl/bad boy, and the classic grumpy x sunshine, all woven together smoothly. I liked that while Knox may be a millionaire, the story doesn't dive too deep into the typical millionaire romance theme. It's just a detail rather than the main plot device. I can’t wait to read the rest of the Knockemout series - especially to find out the history between Sloane & Lucian in Things We Left Behind!

5⭐️ Ok, this book took me longer than usual. But I kept waiting until I had no distractions to read it! I laughed super hard, I loved the town, the secondary characters and I already have a crush on Nash & Lucien. The girl gang is aspirational and I wanna work in the Honky Tonk, with the best girl mates ever. Knox is a layered character, with the perfect balance of original and different background but with the sense of reality. Not OTT, making it eye-rolling incredible but in a mix that actually makes sense. Naomi is also very interesting, yet super funny and with the best BFF in the world. Also, her Sloane addition was cool. Anyway, jumping straight into the next one!
