Katie and Jesse had me SWOONING. What started as a simple arrangement turned into a wicked tension filled love story of self-discovery, fun, a little hurt, and a good dose of healing. Katie is just great. She's sweet but not afraid to speak her mind. She cares for those around her deeply. I thoroughly enjoyed her character development throughout the journey. Jesse is a hottie. But behind that is a fair dose of trauma that had my heart breaking for him. He surprised me being so candid. I loved his honesty and paired with the arrogance it was a delightful package. These two and the tension!!! Good lord. It had me in a tail spin waiting for the explosion. It was worth it. Every single teasing moment. I love the peaks at the side characters and this world. I feel like this story is the perfect foundation to build from, and I'm so excited to jump into Jessas book and hear the tea on her and brody!!!! Yum. But I smell the heartbreak, too.

My all time favourite rockstar romance. I have lost count of the amount of times I have read this. Dirty Like Me (and the whole series that follows) is rockstar perfection. Jesse is the guitarist turned solo artist seeking creative freedom. He has recently had a high profile break up and is about to embark on an important tour. Katie is the rollerskating, coffee drinking free spirit who somehow finds herself playing the part of Jesse's girlfriend to help sell his solo music. This plays with the fake relationship trope and all the best parts of rockstar/non famous FMC romance. Jesse and Katie live rent free in my head most of the time. They are the rockstar couple all others are compared too. Their chemistry is heated and intense. The build up to them giving in is delicious. These two are playful and just meant to be. So, this is a hard one for me because actually I really liked the story. Compared to other rock star plots, It felt a bit more like it could actually happen… ok if you suspend reality for a few minutes. I liked the characters. The NC scenes were well written although they lacked variety. And I liked the angst in the story. But I just felt like we didn’t get enough depth. I know, its not that kind of book, its meant to be surface fluff with steamy bits, but actually this story isn’t and nor are the characters, theres so much more there, more back story, more emotions, more explanation needed, I just kept feeling frustrated and a bit bored in places because I really liked the characters and wanted more. I don’t know, maybe that’s too much to ask. I liked the writing though. I’d read other books by the author, especially if the author explored more depth behind the plot and characters. I don’t know if it will happen or not, but why do I get the feeling that Devi might be able to tame Zane? Don’t worry thats not a spoiler.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great just the right amount of depth and backstory and the dialogue between them was realistic and funny. Plenty of sizzling sex scenes. The only disappointing element was the epilogue which instead of giving you an insight into Katie and Jessie's future, was more of an introduction for the next book featuring Jessa and Brody.

Okay, great start to what I hope will be an exceptional series of books. I do love a good Rock Star Romance. Katie was left at the altar 2 years ago, and she's still trying to figure out how to get her life back. She went to school for art, but she's not finding much energy or inspiration to do it. Her best friend Devi is a talent agent, and one day when Katie is walking her dog towards Devi's office, she finds her in a meeting with a few people. Half an hour later, Katie has an unexpected job as Jesse Mayes' love interest in a music video. Jesse felt an immediate attraction to Katie. When the video goes viral, he offers her a job for the next 6 weeks while his band is touring. The job is to play his girlfriend, since the video has been wildly popular and he thinks that playing along with that popularity will help with album sales. Katie agrees, somewhat reluctantly, because she is already finding Jesse hard to resist. Even while they're trying to resist one another, it's obvious that it won't take long for things to heat up. The only problem is, Katie isn't ready to be in any spotlight, and her feelings for Jesse are getting harder to hide. Jesse has long been the master of hiding his feelings and he's been hiding them so long, he can't find the words when he needs them.

I loved this book. A book about loosing faith in oneself and finding it back with, through and thanks to someone’s love. It didn’t hurt that the sex scenes were hot. Still, I would have liked to have more out of Jesse. The h and her thoughts and feelings dominated the story. What are HIS demons? What’s HIS story with Zane? What in Katie made HIM shift? Not very clear.
